Clarbeston Road 2.

Hakin United 2.

A late goal by Adam Davies gave him his second of the match and allowed Hakin United to gain a draw against a Clarbeston Road side which is gaining in confidence as the season progresses.

Davies had grabbed the first goal of the match after 16 minutes when he fired a right foot shot past Lee Scott from 20 yards and the Vikings had other shots and a couple of headed chances for Kristan Bennett, Steve Mathias, Andrew Kingston and Paul Jones which either flew wide or were well saved by Scott.

They were made to pay for not turning pressure into goals as Clarbie fought back with strong performances by Sion Price, Kristian Griffiths and Rhys Dalling which led to their first goal just before the interval when an inswinging corner allowed Richard Bevan to head past James Manson from three yards.

It was a similar story after the break as Hakin posed a threat up front but had a penalty claim turned down and good work by Adie Hurton, Dan Rees, Rhys Jones and Karl Hedley nullified their efforts before Clarbie grabbed the lead when Peter Jones scored a good goal.

It wasn’t until the final stages that the Vikings managed to snatch a draw when replacement Keith Armstrong, hooked in a corner from which Adam Davies sent his powerful volley slamming into the top corner from 12 yards.
