Over 100 anglers competed in the Tenby open fishing competition recently.
Fishing a choice of venues such as Amroth, Saundersfoot, Tenby south and Tenby north, flat seas and warm conditions did nothing for the fishing with smaller than average catch being returned to the scales.
Although among the array of species were small flounder, ray, turbot and plaice, three Milford Haven anglers managed to catch some fine specimen golden grey mullet.
Cleaning up with three top prizes and finishing in first place was delighted 12-year-old old Daniel Tucker, of Milford Haven.
Daniel scooped triple success winning the junior, heaviest round fish and open championship. Thrilled Daniel hooked a fine golden grey mullet weighing 1.233kilos just couple of ounces short of the Welsh record, but he was thrilled to pocket a cool £1,250 in prize money. Sheila Sear finished in second spot, and Robbie Scale settled for third.
