Reds are coming to town
Haverfordwest County’s game at the weekend was one of many that were called off due to the storms that swept across the country. Those cancelled games along with some results in the games that were played ensured that our league position remained unchanged, and also ensured that what ever the result this coming Friday against top three side Llanelli we will not drop down the table.

That said, though, it is important for the side to get a good result, as the next three games are all against top sides. The game on Friday kicks off at 7.30pm.

The Bluebirds traditionally play well against good sides and, with Llanelli certainly among the very good sides just now, Friday’s game should be a keen one. Our last two encounters with Llanelli on the Bridge Meadow have been crackers. A year ago, in a league game, it was only a very debatable red card for Kevin Morgan which let the Reds in for a late win, and in this season’s Loosemore’s Cup game, a second half equaliser from Steffan Williams gave the Bluebirds a deserved 1-1 draw.

Festive bingo night

The Supporters’ Association is running a bus to the game against Rhyl on Saturday, November 28th. Anyone interested travelling to north Wales should contact Eddie Bunston at the club on 01437 769048.

International call-ups
Haverfordwest County’s Lee Idzi and Jack Christopher have both been selected for Wales under-23 semi-professional team that faces Northern Ireland at Portadown on Tuesday, November 24th.

Defender Lee Bevan is on stand by. Bluebirds’ manager Derek Brazil said: “It’s brilliant news. I’m delighted for Jack and Lee Idzi, but also Lee Bevan to be on stand-by is a brilliant achievement when you consider he’s come back as strong as ever after a serious injury last season.”

Bluebirds tote
The winning numbers on the tote this week were 5, 9, and 20. There were no winners, and the prize money for next week has gone up to £1500.

Bluebirds’ player profile: Lee Idzi
THIS is the first of series of Bluebirds’ player profiles to appear in Bluebirds’ corner, and like the number on his back it starts with goalkeeper Lee Idzi.

Lee played junior football for Georgetown Boys Club and Pen-Darren F.C. Between the age of nine and 14 he was invited to train at Swansea City, and whilst there, on eight occasions he appeared for the Swans reserve team.

He transferred to Cheltenham Town, and in 2003/04 Lee represented Wales at under 16 level against Belgium. He stayed at Cheltenham for two seasons, and then he left to join Merthyr Tydfil Youth team as goalkeeper. In 2006/07 season he was a member of the Merthyr youth team that won both the Welsh Youth Cup and the Welsh Under-19 League.

In 2007 Lee was a member of the Welsh under-23 squad that played in Italy. He came on as a second half substitute in that game. In November 2008 he made a won a second cap when he played against Finland in Llanelli. In 2008 Lee played against England, Scotland and Gibraltar, in the Four Nations semi-professional tournament held in North Wales, and seems to be destined to be the first choice Welsh keeper. In his first season at the club he won the Supporters’ Association player of the year award and followed that up last season by winning both the Player’s Player of the Season and the Young Player of the Season awards.
