Goodwick United 0
Pennar Robins 2

Goodwick United slipped to their third successive defeat, losing against an ‘up for it’ Pennar Robins outfit at Phoenix Park.

The home side’s title aspirations have taken a turn for the worse, after winning their first five games of the season; they have now lost their last three, much to the dismay of manager Bernie Armstrong.

This clash was goalless at the interval, but it was the visitors who drew first blood in the 65th minute when Dai Patterson struck a wicked shot that flew in the top corner. Fifteen minutes from full-time and Dean Lawrence doubled the visitors’ lead. The striker buried his effort low and hard in the bottom corner of Carl Woodhouse’s net and put the result beyond doubt.
