Lawrenny (173 for 8) beat Llanrhian (169 for 6)
Nigel Delaney was the man of the match for Llanrhian as he top scored with 57 out of their 169 for 6 and grabbed 4 for 29 in 12 overs, but Lawrenny’s greater experience paid off as they eased home by two wickets with two balls to spare.
Llanrhian were asked to bat first and built towards a reasonable total as Gareth Davies (22) and Delaney (five fours and a six in his innings of 57) laid the foundations.
Richard Rhead (26 not out) and Luke Jones (18 not out) helped Llanrhian to 169 for 6 against the bowling of Brad McDermott-Jenkins (4 for 34) and Phil Cole (1 for 34).
Brad McDermott-Jenkins gave Lawrenny a flying start after tea as he blitzed four fours and three sixes in his 41 made out of 53 – and when he departed coopener Andrew Cole scored 52 (six fours) against useful bowling by Delaney and Gareth Davies (1 for 26).
Matthew Bennett suffered some ‘stick’ in his 1 for 73 as Rob Williams chipped in with 22 before Hugh Griffiths hit the winning boundary in his 17 not out at the finish.
