AN 11-year-old boy from Cilgerran is causing heads to turn in two vastly different sports and is being tipped for the top in both.
Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi pupil Harvey Williams has amazed seasoned darts players in the area with his throwing on the oche.
A consistently heavy scorer he recently reached the semi-final of a very competitive men’s tournament and if he continues his progress many believe he can follow in the footsteps of 24-year-old Jamie Lewis of Cardigan who is established in the Professional Darts Corporation and ranked 31st in the world.
Not satisfied with just his darts prowess the youngster is also a talented footballer who seems to improve with every game.
A member of the Carmarthen Town Academy his skilful midfield play is already attracting attention from further afield as he turns in outstanding performances for the Under 12’s.
Harvey’s sporting prowess is hardly surprising as his father and Cardigan postal worker Paul Williams is a former Welsh International boxer who took part in more than 70 bouts.
