A closer look at the race for the National League play-offs

Halifax are currently seventh in the table and will make sure of their place in the play-offs if they win at Eastleigh this weekend.

However, the Shaymen have not been at their best in recent weeks and have triumphed just once in their past six games.

Saturday's game will also be their third in five games and boss Chris Millington admits it has been tough going.

"We've got to do it the hard way," he told the club's YouTube channel.

"We've got to do it away from our home, we've got to do it with three games in five days and with poor officiating going against us.

"But it's nothing new for us and we'll go again.

"It will make it all the more sweet when we get the success we deserve.

"I'm looking forward to Saturday and it's exciting.

"What a game to schedule for us on the last game of the season when we've got a game on a Thursday night.

"We'll go there looking to win the game but our biggest enemy will be fatigue."

Eastleigh go into the clash sitting 12th in the table.

The Spitfires have won their last three games and, in Paul McCallum, boast the top scorer in the division.

McCallum has scored 35 goals this season and boss Kelvin Davis is determined to keep his side's good run going.

"We're in a good place with good momentum and now it's can we continue that into the weekend," Davis told the club's YouTube channel.

"We'll stick to our game-plan and hopefully put a performance in which gives us three points."

Aldershot Town are level with Halifax on 68 points and head to Dagenham & Redbridge this weekend.

The Shots ended a six match winless streak with a 1-0 victory at Gateshead on Wednesday night.

But Aldershot boss Tommy Widdrington now has his sights set on the Daggers.

"It's the next game so it's the biggest and we've focused fully on the game," Widdrington told the club's YouTube channel.

"The group wanted to give us a chance on the final day of the season and we've managed to do that.

"If you had offered me this opportunity when we came back to work at the beginning of July I'd have ripped your arm off.

"We know what's required,  we've got to win a football match and see where it takes us."

Dagenham are 15th in the standings and have triumphed just once in five games.

But Daggers boss is focused on ending the season strongly.

"It will come down to our own personal pride and ambitions," Strevens told the club's YouTube channel.

"Aldershot will be coming here with so much to play for and they've had a brilliant season.

"But we have to do this for ourselves and the integrity of the league to go out there and give the performance we can to try and get three points."

Should Eastleigh beat Halifax and Dagenham beat Aldershot then the Shrimpers will finish the season in seventh if they beat Rochdale at Roots Hall due to their superior goal difference.

Blues are currently ninth in the table and are unbeaten in 15 games.

Kevin Maher's have won three games in succession and will be looking to make it four against Rochdale.

Jimmy McNulty's side are 11th in the table and are winless in their last five games.

Their previous four matches have been draws but McNulty wants more against Blues who he knows will be keen to win.

“They’ll be absolutely desperate to get over the line in what would be an incredible achievement," McNulty told the club's website.

“To me it’s a football match that I really want to win.

"I’ve said so many times that I believe we can win the next game.

“I thought we put on a great performance against Southend at home, but they scored two goals against the run of play.

"They showed the power that they’ve got and there was a ruthlessness from Harry Cardwell on the day.

"We didn’t give them much.

"We put in a great performance and we drew 2-2."
