CANCER support charity Macmillan is asking Pembrokeshire people to make volunteering their 2017 New Year resolution.

The charity is looking for volunteers to help it reach even more people in the area who are affected by cancer.

It is seeking ambassadors to deliver talks about Macmillan, fundraising group members to organise local events, action team members who could help cheer on our incredible runners, cyclists or swimmers or people who can help with local collections.

Whatever the role, volunteers will be helping Macmillan to increase awareness and raise money to help us support people affected by cancer.

Macmillan is 99 per cent funded by public donations, and the support of volunteers is essential to helping raise the money it needs to fund its cancer services.

The charity supports people with cancer and their families in a number of ways, including by providing specialist nurses who work within the NHS, giving grants to cancer patients with money problems and running a nurse-run support line.
