Mr Alan Hayward Newport, Pembrokeshire Alan Hayward of Newport, Pembrokeshire. Beloved husband of Gwyneth, adored father of Rebecca and devoted grandfather of Hugh, Bear and Ralph, died at the Princess Grace Hospital, London on Tuesday, 15th May 2018. Funeral service to be held on Thursday, 31st May at St Brynach's Church, Nevern, Pembrokeshire at 2pm. Family flowers only. Mr Hayward was a husband, a father, a father in law, but I knew him as Grandpa. Devoted to his grandsons, he lit up any room he entered. "Grandpa Wales" was no ordinary grandfather, he was the man with silver hair and a golden heart. How lucky everyone was to have someone so wonderful, even if it was not for as long as we hoped. What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.
