On Friday (January 9th) the Morriston Phoenix Choir will be performing its special brand of signing at the Queen’s Hall, Narberth.
Formed in Swansea in 2007, the choir explores a modern approach to choral singing, without abandoning the rich choral tradition of Welsh male voice choirs.
Along with classic pieces such as Myfanwy, Cwm Rhondda and Gwahoddiad, the Phoenix Choir will perform the work of Mika, Robbie Williams and Take That.
The Phoenix will be joined by the One Voice Choir, an eclectic mix of farmers, teachers, painters and nurses from Pembrokeshire and the surrounding area, performing a wide ranging repertoire.
With a mix of world music, pop and much more, both groups are sure to bring a new meaning to choral music and mesmerise the audience with their beautiful singing voices.
Tickets are £7 (£10 on the door) available from the Queen’s Hall box office.
On Thursday, January 15th, Kill for a Seat Comedy returns to the Queen’s Hall with a very special show for the new year, including compere Paul B. Edwards, the wonderful Sully O’Sullivan, and a true star of UK comedy, Jason Cook.
Paul B. Edwards is a rock ‘n’ roll poet — singer and songwriter with an ability to lead any audience into rousing and hysterical singalongs.
Sully O’Sullivan makes a very welcome return to the Queen’s Hall. He’s been declared a highlight of the New Zealand international comedy festival by The NZ Herald, a highlight of the Glasgow international comedy festival by The Scotsman, won Canada’s Masters of the Universe improv competition, and has also featured on Australian TV’s The Comedy Channel.
The headliner is Jason Cook, a stand-up genius who takes comedy into new realms: powerful, viscerally emotional, raw and almost tear-jerking at times, yet always returning to truly heartfelt belly-laughs.
Tickets for Kill for a Seat are £9 (£7 concessions). Call the box office on 08134 861212.
