COUNTY and west Wales' own Dolly Pardon will be helping music fans set aside the 9-5 for a fundraising gig with lots of heart.

In the second event organised to help buy and install a portable heart defibrillator, the Tin Shed, Laugharne, has a lined up an array of Welsh talent for a mini-festival evening.

Singers appearing will include New Quay's Danielle Lewis, silky soul songstress Sherilyn, singer-songwriter Lorraine King, and the Long Lanes.

Tapping in to the festival atmosphere, and knowing a little bit of eccentricity goes a long way, the organisers are also urging people to turn out in an amazing array of hats and wellies to beat the typical Welsh summer weather and be in with a chance of winning a prize.

Lorraine has been a singer/songwriter from the age of 12, winning several competitions along the way such as The International Unisong, The Pan Celtic Festival songwriting prize and S4C’s Can i Gymru.

Recently written songs about Wales in the English language. In the same way that people want to visit Tipperary and Loch Lomond, she reasons that people may want to visit Cardigan Bay to see the Mermaid she has written about, or The Corris Bell.

Danielle Lewis is a 20 year old acoustic folk/pop singer songwriter from New Quay.

Barely two years after leaving school she can boast having played the main stage and the Sea Front stage at the 2012 New Quay music festival, who in the past have included acts such as

Simple Minds and Boomtown Rats.

In December 2012 she was chosen to represent Celtic Womenfest in Ireland with performances held at Wexford Arts Centre.

Last on the bill will be Polly Pardon, twin of Patsy De-cline, who will bring her very own brand of country and west Wales humour to the stage for a good old fashioned hoedown.

Sherilyn not only has a wonderful silky soulful voice, she is also a driving force behind 'Cariad'

a registered charity set up to raisefunds to provide schools with defibrillators.

She chose to do this due to the alarming statistic that almost 270 children die in UK schools every year.

To date 20 schools have received equipment and fundraising to help more schools continues.
