FOLLOWING its highly successful run of The Mikado at the Torch Theatre in May, Haverfordwest Operatic Society presents its autumn production at Theatr Gwaun on Saturday, October 5.
It features a performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic opera The Zoo, which opened just three months after Trial by Jury, and includes some of Sullivan’s most attractive music.
Like Trial by Jury the opera is in one act, without spoken dialogue. The farcical story concerns two pairs of lovers and contains touches of Victorian melodrama with a suitable happy ending.
The programme, which begins at 8pm, also includes medleys from popular musicals.
Tickets cost £6 and can be reserved at the Theatr Gwaun Box Office.
