One of folk music’s guitar geniuses — as well as one of Scotland’s finest singers — comes to Theatr Mwldan tonight (Thursday).

Dick Gaughan has been at the cutting edge of Scottish music for almost four decades. Starting out with Scots Irish band Boys of the Lough in the early 1970s he went on to make three albums with the legendary Scottish folk rock-band Five Hand Reel before performing in and producing the extraordinary but short-lived ensemble Clan Alba.

Passionate in his beliefs, Gaughan remains a commanding presence on the musical scene and was admired by the likes of John Peel for his wonderfully expressive voice combined with fluent and explosively eloquent guitar techniques which stretch the instrument immensely.

Tickets for Dick Gaughan are £12 (or £10 for concessions). Book online at www.mwldan.co.uk or call the box office on 01239 621200. Evening meals can be pre-booked in Caffi Mwldan from 6pm, ideal before the show starts at 7.30pm.
