No support for monstrous proposal
12:27pm Wednesday 20th March 2013 in Letters
MY sister is a resident at Brooklands Nursing Home which is under the threat of having a civic amenity site built next door to them.
The Pembrokeshire County Council have submitted their plans as stated in last week’s Western Telegraph to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
The residents at the home are not able to speak for themselves due to their illnesses, so the relatives are doing it for them.
We have been campaigning since last July when we first heard about the plans.
Myself and two other relatives had a meeting with Councillors Ken Rowlands and Phil Baker at County Hall on July 19th, 2012 to make our objections and to appeal to them not to put the site there.
It has been said that the council had a meeting with some of the relatives on July 19th, 2012 and that they supported the plans, which is totally untrue. We strongly objected to the plans in no uncertain terms.
The people of Pembrokeshire should know that nobody from the Brooklands Nursing Home supports the council in this monstrous proposal.
We are still demonstrating outside Brooklands Nursing Home every and Friday 2pm to 3pm and would welcome any person willing to come along with open arms.
