The subject of poor mobile phone coverage is covered regularly in the Western Telegraph.

From issues of mast failures leaving customers cut off, to patchy coverage causing dropped calls or failed texts, it feels as though we get a rough deal locally.

It is unacceptable that there are still places in Pembrokeshire that receive no form of mobile signal at all while others are served by a single operator. 2G and 3G are old technologies but we must see them improved quickly for the benefit of our rural economy.

I’m campaigning for more investment by the mobile operators and new solutions to address coverage issues to ensure that customers like you and me get the service we pay for.

As smartphones become commonplace, such devices depend on faster performing networks like 3G and 4G. As things stand there are no plans to roll out 4G anywhere here in the near future. We are missing out on the benefits of faster download and upload speeds comparable to those delivered over the superfast broadband network.

I need the help of readers to understand where problems exist so that I can lobby the mobile phone operators to take our coverage problems seriously and to demand the build out of the 4G network.
