ON A recent walk through Clarbeston Road with a dog and two buggies, several cars passed us all going faster than the speed limit, without a care for other road users, they didn’t move over, slow down or seem to care about anyone else except themselves.
This is no a ‘one off ’ incident this is an everyday occurrence in the village and I would like to say to the selfish drivers try walking once in a while on roads without pavements with small children or even on your own and see how dangerous it is. Cars drive far too close to pedestrians, scaring the children and almost pushing us into the hedgerow. When it is raining it is even worse as they speed through the puddles without a care in the world.
Please stop and think, it could be your relative walking close to the edge of the road with cars skimming by.
Children and dogs can be unpredictable please slow down (I mean really slow down not just keeping to the speed limit) and give pedestrians a wide berth.
A M HOUGH
