PLEASE allow me a reply to Mr C Hill regarding his letter ‘No Welsh response.’ His arrogant colonial attitude towards the Welsh language is no surprise to many of us.
Indeed we’re familiar with this negative tone towards our language, we’ve been living with it for the last 800- 1,000 years.
Any attack or lack of support towards our language accumulates to an affront not only to our culture but Cymru too. However, what Mr Hill and his ilk should remember is that after centuries of colonial abuse the Welsh language still survives.
I can understand how the relentless doggedness towards preserving the Welsh language maybe an irritation to him, but my advice is “Get over it,” we’re here to stay.
