It is with deep regret and a huge loss that the Town Clerk Mrs Sarah McColl-Dorion of Fishguard and Goodwick Town Council has honourably resigned her post owing to personal reasons, which I fully understand, she did not quit which I recall reading somewhere recently.

As the Ex-Mayor of Fishguard Town Council 2014/15 may I take this opportunity to express my personal thanks for the way in which she has carried out her duties with great determination and dignity to the extent that on several occasions, unknown to many people she would communicate with myself late at night on various questions relating to council issues which I had put to her during the working day seeking an answer.

Besides her duties as Town Clerk she got involved in other roles in our community, too many to mention and she did so with commitment and a great sense of duty.

A few did not succeed and reach a successful result because of outside interference and obstacles which were placed in the path of progress – I suppose that will always happen.

On a personal note I and my wife (Rhian) will miss her, Gareth (her partner) and her lovely charming daughters as family friends especially for her undivided kindness bestowed upon myself in my hour of need.

Whilst I was undergoing daily treatment for my illness in Withybush Hospital and especially my daily treatment (1 month) in Singleton Hospital, nothing was too much trouble for Sarah in particular transporting me several times during this period on round trips of 150 miles each time.

I wish her every success in her future employment, good health and happiness, I know that she will be returning on a regular basis to visit family and friends in her beloved Goodwick homeland.

It is with sadness in my heart and I find it extremely difficult ‘words can not express’ my personal thanks to you Sarah for your professionalism during my term in office as the Mayor.
