PEMBROKESHIRE needs to take heed of the very sad scenes in Cumbria recently, typical of the “extreme climate events” happening with increasing frequency around the world.
Emergency planners, and we as communities and as individuals, have to ask this question: what would be the implications for this county if it were to suffer 14 inches of rain in 24 hours?
“It could be you!” doesn’t just apply to the Lottery – it is also true of bad weather; furthermore, it would be wise to suppose that the meteorological odds aren’t a negligible 14 million to one against.
