I NOTE your brief report relating to the Bluestone loan, and the response to my question at the full council meeting.

My further question, which was ruled out of order by the chairman would have been even more uncomfortable for the ruling “Independent”

regime of Jamie Adams.

It would have been: “When will the outstanding sum be repaid?”

I was eagerly anticipating their response, as this sum was, a few years ago converted to 5000 ordinary shares of 0.01 which, having examined the latest accounts are, in my view now worth less than £5k.

So Pembrokeshire County Council, having lent Bluestone £1.8m, a company which was sold in 2013, has been repaid £128,928. The outstanding sum, apart from the penny shares worth less that £5k, has now been written off. So in effect 90% of the loan made by council taxpayers of Pembrokeshire is now written off !

They now express surprise when I ask for details of yet another loan of £1.5m being made to Saundersfoot Harbour Commissioners.

An example of why they cannot be trusted to be the custodians of the public purse in Pembrokeshire, and maybe yet another matter for the Wales Audit Office to have a look at?
