IT certainly has been monsoon season here in North Pembrokeshire for the last two and a half months now.
Eglwyswrw must have been very unlucky however on November 1 and 2 as here in the village of Star just eight miles away from Eglwyswrw as the crow flies they were very sunny days (especially the 1st) with no rainfall whatsoever.
Rather misty in the first part of the latter day but no precipitation fell.
Rain commenced in Star on November 3 around 3.45pm in the afternoon and we haven’t had a wholly dry day since although December 9 saw only a few spits and spots which wouldn’t have yielded the 0.2mm required to make it an official wet day - nonetheless precipitation did precipitate.
No measuring equipment to back up these words, just regular and diligent observation of the elements.
We also had rain here on October 23, 24 and 25 prior to October 26 but none on November 1 and 2. The rain has thus unofficially reigned in Star for 73 days now and counting with more forecast. We are so lucky however, with a few sad exceptions, not to have had the flooding hereabouts that other parts of Wales and the UK have had.
