UNFORTUNATELY I was not able to attend your public meeting on January 14, held in Hazelbeach Community Mission Hall. I consider this to be rather an out of the way place for something that affects primarily Milford Haven and residents in the Pill area of the town.

Whilst I look forward to the development of this site and the prospects of employment in the local area, there are several aspects I find puzzling and need answering.

Has any consideration been given to making the site safe?

As I understand it, the land is contaminated from the works undertaken when it was the Mine Depot. I believe problems associated with removal of top soil and decontamination has been one of the reasons this site has been abandoned for so long.

Where will this contaminated material be disposed?

How is the construction material to be delivered to the site? Road access will be difficult both through Milford Haven, across Black Bridge and via Waterston down the narrow road and winding hill. Is any road building for access envisaged?

I note you say, on your website, material for burning will be delivered by sea or rail. Where is the proposed rail going to run?

Who are your worthy partners, you refer to, that ‘have specialist expertise in the assessment and redevelopment of jetties.’ You give no information and examples of their successful work.

Where will all these: fish and prawn farms, cheese production, greenhouses, algae production, liquid fuels, processing and packaging, worthy options of your downstream operations be located?

Has planning permission been sought for these necessary buildings?

What experience has the company in any of these operations?

No evidence of past achievements are posted on your site? What is your track record?

Are all the fish farms etc.

to be located in tanks? How else will you be able to utilise warm water if there is to be no warm water discharged into the harbour.

There has been considerable dispute and problems associated with the warm water discharged from the power station across the harbour affecting the natural marine life there.

How many long term jobs do you envisage will be available to local people in your firm directly or are the 500 jobs all hypothetical and dependent upon downstream developments?

Who owns the company and where will the profits be taxed. Is this going to benefit the UK economy as a whole or will the profits be safely tucked away in a tax haven?

I look forward to hearing your responses.
