FOR those who remember the days of the “pirate”
radio ships off the coast of the UK in the 1960s and 70s there is a real treat coming up this weekend, January 30-31.
Radio Caroline North and Manx Radio, on the Isle of Man, are collaborating to use the Manx Radio AM medium wave frequency of 1368 khz to bring a weekend of memories of the Radio Caroline North days.
Radio Caroline is based on the radio ship Ross Revenge anchored on the River Blackwater North Essex.
It starts at 8.30am on Saturday and runs until 9pm on Sunday night.
1368 khz is a strong signal here in Pembrokeshire but the broadcast is also available via the Radio Caroline and Manx Radio web sites.
So dust off those old transistor radios, tune to 1368 khz and listen to music like it used to be and should be!
One day Radio Caroline will be back on the air permanently.
Happy listening.
