WHEN I started knocking doors as a candidate I did not think Withybush Hospital could be saved.

Now I am in no doubt that services must be restored.

The change came when I met, on the doorstep, the total shambles of the present arrangements.

Every hour I meet another shocking experience.

It’s not a matter of ‘if ’ but ‘who’ will restore them? Hywel Da could, the Labour government could.

They have shown no sign yet.

Some say that Labour is punishing Pembrokeshire for voting Tory. That would explain it, but it would be corruption. You don’t vote for us? Right! Feel the pain!

Gross misconduct in public office if that is the reason.

Otherwise it is gross incompetence.

They could be restored if we elect a different government.

Both Plaid and the Tories have committed to restore services if they get into government.

Plaid could lead a government as nobody objects to working with them. Tories could not, as in Wales they will not get a clear majority nor find other parties to work with.

So come on Labour, if you don’t want a surge of support for Plaid in Pembrokeshire, just do the decent thing and restore the services before the election.
