Stand up and be counted -3

OUR county council has been very quiet about this, but its proposed response is being considered at a meeting of the Older Persons, Health and well being Overview and Scrutiny Committee on Friday.

For those interested, visit the PCC website and the Council Minutes tab, and click on the agenda for the above committee.

Presumably this will be considered by Cabinet, and full Council and its 60 members at some stage.

Bear in mind that the Council is in partnership with the Health Board, and has representation on the Health Board with the Welsh Government appointed (with an allowance) Cabinet member Cllr David Wildman. It is usually expected that once such appointments are made, the appointee acts in the interests of the body.

Councillor Wildman is also the Older Persons Champion, (unpaid) appointed by the Council(Leader?) There is also the Pembrokeshire Local Service Board, “bringing strategic service planning partners together to agree joint actions to achieve better outcomes for citizens”.

Among the elite Board members are PCC’s Chief Executive Bryn Parry-Jones and Leader Jamie Adams, together with Hywel Dda’s Chief Executive, Trevor Purt and Chair, Chris Martin.

Just to see the “right” path is followed, the Board also has Welsh Government representation.
