Did you know that each day, an average woman has 36 negative thoughts about her body? Isn’t that a waste of precious energy? How much better to have kind thoughts about yourself and your body. An experiment carried out by Nikki Owen, a TV commentator who also practices NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming), has showed the effect negative thoughts has on your body. I have read about similar experiments before, and was thrilled to read about this particular one in the Daily Mail recently. It is so important to understand the effect that negative thoughts can have on your body.

She cut an apple in half, an apple because it has a similar water content of 60% to a human body. She took two jars, and labelled one with the word ‘love’ and the other with the word ‘hate’, and placed one half of the apple in each jar. She said kind things to the half in the ‘love’ jar, and mean, negative things to the half in the ‘hate’ jar, and did this for one week. After one week, the half in the ‘hate’ jar has decayed far more than the half in the ‘love’ jar. Hundreds of women have tried this, and, the results are the same.

This experiment was of particular interest to me because it is based on the findings of Dr Masaru, a Japanese scientist who has carried out many, many studies of water crystal molecules, and the effect the environment has on the shape of the crystals formed. I studied the work of Dr Masaru as part of my ACHO Crystal Healing Diploma, when we had to study the effect the environment has on various things, including ourselves, crystals, plants, and water. We studied one of his books, filled with amazing photographs of the water crystals, and how when the molecules were exposed to a happy, pure, loving environment they formed beautiful symmetrical water crystals, but, if they were exposed to a polluted, negative, unpleasant environment the water crystals were deformed and misshapen.

We are made up of 60% water, so it follows that negative thinking about ourselves will have a detrimental affect on our bodies. It is time to be kind to yourself! Whatever your thoughts on this, surely it is just better and kinder, to think positive thoughts about yourself. It takes no more energy, and you will feel better. Something else to think about is that at times of stress, or anger our negative thoughts can lead to us inwardly talking to ourselves in a far worse way than we would ever talk to a friend or partner! The way we sometimes verbally chastise ourselves wouldn’t be acceptable to others, so, try being kind to yourself, and think happy thoughts!
