The Queen's Speech includes legislation about CCTV.

I have no problem with CCTV in public places, generally, and am happy to take off my woolly hat, if I'm wearing one, in winter, when I go into shops as I consider it rude cover my head in such places.

I was reading the Sun from yesterday regarding the murder of the 3 sex workers in Bradford and they carried the report that Simon Griffiths was arrested when the caretaker of the block of flats he lived in, was going through CCTV film to check if any criminal acts were done over the week-end. The film apparently showed one of the women being killed by a crossbow , in the head and the body being dragged away. The same article was mentioning the possibility of other victims being eaten. The film footage was taken to the Police and this led to the arrest of Simon Griffiths.

If it had not been for the CCTV, maybe its possible that there could have been more murders? Having just appeared before the Magistrates Court, he said his name was "The Cross Bow Cannibal". When asked for his address, said "Here, I guess", referring to the court.

Yes, CCTV cameras can be an intrusion, but they do have their benefits.... And if you are doing nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about!
