Be it just a an offcut of wood, I cannot throw things away. I have a mentallity of "it may be of use in the future". I have a tool for almost any DIY job, I need to do in the house, "where are they when I need them". I love spending hours walking around boot sales, buying up other peoples junk. One mans junk is another mans hourd. I have filled lofts, sheds, even a lock up at one point, yes I have actually paid to store someone elses junk! I need to move to a bigger house, if I continue to live as a magpie. Some of the strange items I have purchased, include a pair of hairy shoes made from recycled materials, they are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn, I hobble everytime I wear them, a Geiger counter?, a russian hat complete with a hammer and sickle badge, a plastc kings crown, hundreds of non fiction books. I have just bought an additional pair of bookcases from a bootsale, last sunday to store the overflowing books in. Just remembered its not the shoes, that were my worst purchase, it was a Chinese Takeaway that is a shop not a meal. Possessions really do tie you down. Time for a late spring clean, and visit the tip and another bootsale, as a seller this time. I will be keeping the Geiger counter, Russian hat, plastic kings crown, books and of course the shoes, I might try and put some soft insoles in them, to stop me hobbling.
