Today we attended the “Free” Haverfordwest beer festival in the castle grounds. On arrival we meandered through the real ale tents and food bars, the atmosphere felt extremely warm and welcoming, the air was filled with the sound of Pembrokeshire band the Krooks belting out some pop classics which brought the old castle to life again. You could see a great time was being had by all.

A short time after the Krooks finished their set, another local act “Elvis Prescelli” hit the stage, his performance certainly made him “King of the castle,” singing a dozen or so Elvis songs, all were excellent renditions, he soon had the audience tapping their feet and singing along Mike Chant followed Elvis and once again his own songs and covers showed how talented Pembrokeshire musicians are.

The whole event seemed well planned and is certainly an asset to Haverfordwest , the organisers and helpers should be thanked for their efforts. I hope this little beer festival is around for many years to come. Well done to all the performers, and all who brought this event to fruition.

Old fashion entertainment, you can’t beat it.
