In addition to this, careers advisers are able to support you with the following: - If you are not sure what your next steps are, they can provide you with some careers ideas.

- Support you with producing a CV so that you are more ready to take your next steps, help you with research you may need to do (where to study, what to study, how to apply etc), support you with applications for college or university, provide you with support for career decisions you need to make, help you find work experience placements and give you information about funding that is available for courses and training. Careers advisers also coordinate regular Careers Conventions in your local area. Here attendees have the opportunity to meet local and national employers as well as speaking to education and training establishments.

Some examples of work that our careers advisers have been doing this week: - Interview practice with a client hoping to apply for college - Referred a client to the school counsellor for additional support during a difficult time - Met a pupil who is thinking about dropping out of sixth form, and discussing all options available to them - Met with parents at a careers convention - Supported pupils with the completion of their university applications and personal statements - Carried out interviews with year 11 pupils and provided them with careers ideas and support to make decisions on their next steps.

If you are aged between 11 and 18 and not in school or college, our careers advisers would be happy to arrange to meet you in our local office. Careers Wales West have careers advisers linked to all secondary schools and colleges; if you would like to arrange an appointment or require further information please contact your local office, or email me: natalie.thomas@cwwest.co.uk
