Dear Editor - Further to my letter published on February 20th and feedback from Arthur B. Davies, of Newport in the April 16th edition, I would like to add my support to the North Pembrokeshire Transport Forum.
While Mr Davies and his fellow residents in the north of the county are possibly envious of me being able to access Cardiff for a day without any problems, I am envious of Mr Davies and the citizens of north Pembrokeshire in that they are able to travel to Aberystwyth on a day trip.
Last December I went on a day trip by bus from Pembroke Dock to Cardigan - I caught the first bus of the morning but had to change at Haverfordwest after 40 minutes.
Then I spent an hour and 30 minutes travelling by bus from Haverfordwest to Cardigan and researched that Cardigan to Aberystwyth was another hour and 30 minutes.
Although the Tenby of Ceredigion' is in the neighbouring county, it takes longer to get there than to Cardiff.
I read somewhere that the old rail line from Carmarthen to Aberystwyth is going to be reinstated. It is a shame that a line cannot run from Haverfordwest to Cardigan, via Newport for the mutual benefit of myself, Mr Davies and the supporters of the North Pembrokeshire Transport Forum.
