Pembrokeshire’s county library in Haverfordwest is due to close temporarily today (Moday).
The public lending service in Haverfordwest will shut for two weeks. It will reopen on Monday, December 10th, in its temporary home in the nearby youth wing of the Community Learning Centre.
The close-down is in preparation for a major redevelopment of the library site due to get underway next spring.
The redevelopment, which includes the demolition of the current library building’s second floor, is expected to take between 18 and 24 months to complete.
The new building will provide all public library services on the ground floor with the first floor home to Learning Pembrokeshire – Haverfordwest’s adult learning arm as well as a new vending machine coffee bar for customers.
A phased shut down of services operating from the building started earlier this month to prepare for the building work.
