A court has been shown CCTV footage of a woman performing a sex act upon a man in the foyer of Lloyds TSB in the centre of Haverfordwest.

The case followed a 10 year-old girl spotting the couple engaging in sexual activity in the early evening last Wednesday.

Gareth Robin Healey and Phillipa Audrey Botting, who are both aged 23 and gave their address as Priory Court, Haverfordwest, pleaded guilty to outraging public decency by committing a sexual act in a public place when they appeared before the town's magistrates court on Monday (February 18th).

The incident happened around 6.30pm on Wednesday February 13th at Lloyds TSB in Haverfordwest.

David Weale, prosecuting, said a woman was by the taxi rank in the town centre with her 10-year-old niece when she noticed a group of men and women being rowdy and loud, and she crossed the road.

A man and a woman, who were said to be behaving in a sexual manner, also crossed the road and went in to the bank foyer.

The foyer remains open outside of normal office hours so customers can access cash machines.

The 10-year-old girl told her aunty the pair were "being disgusting" and described what she could see.

Botting held her head in her hands and looked at the floor as CCTV footage of her performing a sex act upon Healey was shown to the court.

Gareth Lewis, defending Healey, said his client's actions had been fuelled purely by drink.

Healey acknowledged he had a problem with alcohol and wanted help, the court was told.

Magistrates formally accepted jurisdiction and the case was adjourned for pre-sentencing reports to be prepared by probation.

Both defendants were released on bail, with the conditions they cooperate with the probation service, reside at the address given, are electronically tagged from 8pm to 8am and do not enter licensed premises, including supermarkets where alcohol is sold.

Botting and Healey will be sentenced at Haverfordwest magistrates court on March 11th.
