A PEMBROKESHIRE entrepreneur has been shortlisted for a prestigious Social Enterprise Wales Award.

Cris Tomos is the chairman of Cymdeithas Arian, a local community forum that covers the three north Pembrokeshire villages of Hermon, Glogue and Llanfyrnach.

The association meets regularly to review the progress of its action plan, which includes a Community Resource Centre and renewable energy project.

Speaking of his nomination, Cris said: “It was wonderful to have the news of being shortlisted but I do wish to acknowledge the numerous other people who have been involved with the social enterprises that I have been supporting and helping to establish.

“It is about team work and mutual joint efforts for the good of the community and society.”

The Social Enterprise Awards ceremony will be held at the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff on Tuesday, October 15. They are designed to recognise the outstanding Welsh social enterprises which demonstrate innovation, imagination and passion for social change.

This year there are four categories: One to Watch, Market Builder, Social Enterprise Champion and Social Enterprise of the Year.
