The A40 was closed earlier at Penblewin due to a serious accident.
The incident is understood to involve a car and a motorcycle. The road was closed for about one hour, and is now said to be 'partially open'.
Dyfed-Powys Police are at the scene directing traffic with a contraflow in operation just before 6pm.
The accident is understood to have occurred just east of the Penblewin Roundabout, near to Llanddewi Velfrey.
Diversions are currently in the process of being set up.
