Tenby’s coastguards were called out twice yesterday (Sunday), as the sunny weather and the start of the school summer holidays brought crowds to the resort.
Just after midday on Sunday a holiday maker from Newport Gwent was evacuated from the town’s South Beach.
Yesterday evening crews were called out again, this time to the aid of an eight-year-old boy who had fallen off the back steps of the harbour wall at Tenby.
The tide was out and the boy had fallen around 15 feet onto soft sand. He was attended to by members of the public until coastguards arrived. They transferred him to an ambulance rapid response vehicle.
The lad, in Tenby with his family from Carmarthen, was taken by ambulance to Withybush Hospital for further checks as a precautionary measure.
