A flood alert has been issued for the Pembrokeshire coast this evening, as the high tide and strong winds combine.

The alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for the stretch of coast between St Dogmaels and Cardigan, with concern also expressed for the tidal defences at Newgale.

This evening’s high tide, which will occur at 7.39pm at Milford Haven, and tomorrow morning’s high water, which takes place around 8am, combined with westerly winds up to force six could cause flooding.

The Environment Agency said that there were also concerns about the shingle tidal defence at Newgale, with the road likely to be affected by spray at high tide.
