MEMBERS of Girlguiding Pembrokeshire ‘pulled together’ to raise an impressive £1345 for the Wales Air Ambulance.
The girls collected the cash for the charity by holding a sponsored Plane Pull at Withybush Airport.
They revisited the scene of their teamwork triumph last week to present a cheque to Tony Key, Pembrokeshire’s coordinator for Wales Air Ambulance.
Accepting the donation, Mr Key was full of praise for the girls.
“I’d like to thank Girlguiding Pembrokeshire on behalf of Wales Air Ambulance,” he said. “It costs £1,500 each time we take off, so you’ve just saved a life. We couldn’t do it without you.”
Guider Kathy Gunner from 7th Haverfordwest Brownies said:
“Girlguiding Cymru had the idea of girls working together as a team to face a challenge and Withybush Airport were delighted to help out. We decided to make it a fundraising opportunity and the Wales Air Ambulance seemed a natural choice, as they are a well known charity based in Wales that the girls were familiar with. Every community could potentially benefit from our support for the charity, and everyone who took part had a great time and really pulled together.”
