Dyfed Powys Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Tenby, between 2am and 2.20am this morning (Friday).

A 21-year-old local woman was assaulted and her handbag was stolen. The bag contained a black and silver mobile phone, a black purse with an integral card holder, various credit cards and loose change.

The violent struggle that occurred during the robbery resulted in the woman's arm being injured and to her sustaining bruising.

The incident occurred at South Parade, near to the archway entrance leading into The Arcade, Upper Frog Street.

Police are anxious to trace any witnesses to this incident, in particular customers who would have been emerging from the nearby The Prince of Wales pub at the time the assault took place.

They are anxious to trace a group of six men with northern accents who were in the Prince of Wales pub and present thereafter when the assault occurred.
