PART of Pembroke Dock's Military Cemetery will be closed temporarily while work is carried out to repair damage caused by a fallen tree.
The tree fell in high winds at the weekend.
Pembroke town councillor David Boswell said: “It’s very sad, but that’s Mother Nature.
“All we can do is repair the damage.”
Cllr Boswell added: “I think the headstone damaged belongs to a Private Ryan, so that will need saving.”
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) confirmed there will be a temporary closure of the the site and the area around the fallen tree to allow it to be removed and the turf area reinstated.
“Our Regional Supervisor will be on site on Wednesday” said a CWGC spokesman.
“They will meet with site representatives to assess damage to headstones and organise action as appropriate.
“We will restore the graves as soon as we can.”
