The family of a young dad who died five weeks after being involved in a road collision have paid tribute to a ‘wonderful son and brother’.

Rory Fenge, aged 24, lost his fight for life at the Heath Hospital, Cardiff on Monday of last week.

He had been a patient there in a critical condition since the two-vehicle crash on the outskirts of Narberth on October 26.

Rory, of Llandissillio, worked as an electrician and refrigeration engineer with local company RMS.

Brought up in Narberth, he was a former pupil of Ysgol Dyffryn Taf, Whitland.

His family said they are ‘devastated’ at their loss of Rory.

They said this week: “He was a truly larger than life person who had a huge amount of confidence and hunger for life.

“He was always the most daring and outgoing person around and although he was quick to find something to laugh about, underneath he was a thoughtful and serious person who worked hard and conscientiously and took his duties as a father seriously.

“He had many friends and was highly regarded by both his workmates and the many customers that he worked for.

“We are struggling to understand how someone who was so full of life is no longer with us. We all miss him terribly. We thank everyone for their kind thoughts and ask that people respect our privacy at this very difficult time."

Rory leaves his father Martin, of Wiston; mother Jocelyn of Narberth, sister Brooke, aged 27; brother Liam, aged 19 and his two-and-a-half-year-old son, Ethan, of Narberth.

The funeral takes place at Parc Gwyn Crematorium at 2.30pm on Friday December 18.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collision on the A478 between Narberth and Penblewin, near the entrance to Kiln Park Road, at 7.40pm on October 26.

Rory was driving a red Volkswagen Golf in the direction of Penblewin while a silver Vauxhall Corsa was heading in the opposite direction.

Anyone who saw the cars at around that time is asked to call police on 101.
