A LOCAL organisation which raises funds for people in crisis is staging a Christmas event today (Saturday) in response to the plight of winter refugees in Europe this winter.

Kreative Action Network, brings together people across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion who are willing to share their time, energy and skills.

Today’s event in the village hall in Clynderwen will see a Christmas bazaar from 2pm-5.30pm, with stalls, a raffle, Santa’s grotto and workshops and carols from the One Voice Choir.

From 5.30pm, hot food will be served and there will be a licensed bar and entertainment to include a cabaret and a charity auction.

Tickets, which cost £5, and can be bought from Giddy Aunt vintage clothes shop in Narberth or by contacting Nerys on 07971 611717 or at Krea tiveactionnetwork@gmail.com.

There will also be a talk from Sophie Muller, who has been taking aid to the refugees in Calais, where 6,000 people are living in harsh conditions.

The refugee community kitchen at the Calais camp is using donated items from Pembrokeshire, including a marquee from local event organiser Nerys Craig from Clynderwen and £1,000 worth of catering equipment from Dick Knight of Pendine.
