THE car was the star at Pembroke Dock’s Dockyard Chapel recently, with a glittering display of classic motors ahead of the town’s annual Quins Carnival.

Some 60 classic vehicle were polished, admired and judged as they gleamed before an appreciative audience.

The cars later joined in the Quins Carnival float procession at Albion Square, giving the town’s residents and the gathered crowds a chance to see the classic machinery.

Car of the show at the Classics in the Chapel event was Eddie Woodford’s stunning 1930 Ford Model A.

There were plenty of other gleaming and glistening examples of automotive art claiming a prize, including a 1992 Wood & Pickett Mini, a 2000 AC Cobra, a 1967 Citreon DS 21, a 1967 MGB Roadster, and a 1952 MG TD.

Judge, organiser, and Pembroke Dock town councillor Peter Kraus said: “To start the Pembroke Dock & Quins off on the right foot, I thought about doing something different for a change, so I arranged to have the classic and vintage car show at the Dockyard Chapel.”

Cllr Kraus added: “It was a huge success and everyone enjoyed themselves. The weather was very kind and all those who went to the carnival ground had a great time.”
