The Wales Air Ambulance and local rescue teams were called to the aid of an injured man at Whitesands beach on Sunday afternoon.
St Davids coastguard team was joined by local fire crew co-responders and paramedics to rescue the casualty, who had suffered what has been described as a ‘significant head injury' after falling on rocks at Trwynhwrddyn at around 5.50pm.
The man was initially treated at the scene by two local outdoor adventure guides and a doctor, and the Wales Air Ambulance was tasked to drop two doctors at the beach, before airlifting the casualty to hospital.
Police officers and Fishguard coastguard members also attended the incident.
