Police have said there is no cause for concern following an incident yesterday (Wednesday) which prompted a letter home to Pembroke parents about a man allegedly following school pupils and leaving them upset.

Golden Grove School’s headteacher Andrew Williams sent a letter home with children advising parents of an incident on the morning of September 27.

The letter, which was been posted on social media, stated: “Children walking to school have informed us they were followed by an unknown man whose behaviour was upsetting to them.

“Our school places safeguarding of the pupils as a priority and we have acted promptly to inform the Police, the Education Authority and the parents of the children directly involved.”

But today (Thursday) police issued the following statement: “Following an allegation of an individual behaving suspiciously near Golden Grove School yesterday, Dyfed-Powys Police is satisfied that all lines of enquiry have been followed, the relevant individuals identified and spoken to, and that there is no cause for concern.

“A PCSO and Schools Liaison Officer have also visited the school today to offer advice and reassurance to pupils, and regular patrols will be maintained in the area.”
