POEMS celebrating Haverfordwest’s people, places, and history composed by a local writer have been collected and bound in a limited edition run.

During Haverfordwest festival week in July Kerry Steed took to the streets with a notebook and pen, stopping to ask people about their town – their memories, descriptions, impressions, and thoughts - and created 16 poems composed entirely from the words and sentences collected.

The poems are a celebration of Haverfordwest and its history and people. The buildings, the river and the skate park are also all explored.

“Chatting with people and creating the poetry has really made me look at the town I live in more closely, it's made me appreciate its beauty and its potential.

“I hope the poetry will have a similar effect on its readers,” said Kerry.

The 16 poems have been produced as a publication, with a limited edition of 60 booklets being available to anyone interested in having a free copy.

They are available at 4 independent businesses in Haverfordwest, The Ark Health Hub, Victoria Bookshop, Creative Common Coffee house and Co-working hub and JustNice Gift shop and Clothing Agency.

Display only copies will also be available in Haverfordwest Library and various other locations around the town.

The poems can also be viewed on the Haverfordwest Festival Week 2017 page on the Lab website thelabhaverfordwest.org
