A HOUGHTON woman has given back to a Withybush hospital ward after the amazing care and kindness she received there.

Marie Morgan from Houghton Pembrokeshire presented a cheque of £1,882.75 towards the Colposcopy Department at Withybush Hospital.

Marie raised money by arranging an autumn charity dinner and dance at Wolfscastle Country Hotel on September 30.

Marie said: “This is my fourth charity dinner dance and I just wanted to give something back to the Colposcopy department at Withybush Hospital after the amazing care and kindness I received.

“Thanks to everyone for their constant support from everyone who purchases a ticket donates a raffle prize and buys a raffle ticket.”

Marie added she could not have done it without the support from Claire Nutty from Haywood Spar Hotel Tenby who donated the first raffle prize, Sue Reynolds from flowers and favours, and Claire Cupcakes too.

Sarah Rees, Senior Nurse Manager for Gynaecology said: “All the Colposcopy team are delighted with the £1,882.75 donation for the department raised by Marie.

“We would like to express our gratitude for all her hard work in her fundraising activities and raising public awareness of the importance of cervical screening.

The nursing team are planning to buy a television for the waiting area and an ice machine to improve the experience of patients attending the department.

“Marie's words of appreciation for the quality of care she received throughout her treatment were gratefully received by the staff.”
