FLOCKS of folk will be gathering on Newgale beach on Saturday, April 7 for a human murmuration.

The Big Flock event runs from 4-5 pm and is hosted by Holy Hiatus and Joon Dance.

Everyone is welcome to come and join in; all ages and all levels of mobility. Participants will have some fun learning some simple movements and keeping in time with their flock. There will be a flock that's just the right speed everyone.

Artist Ruth Jones will be making a short film of the murmuration and is asking participants to wear similar colours; warm layers of blues, turquoises, greys, with no big logos, trainers or other comfortable shoes and warm hats. The event will happen whatever the weather, so if it's raining bring waterproofs.

Children of any age are welcome but under 16s must be accompanied.

Registration is essential and costs £2 per person, £1 of which goes to RSPB. For more information and to register go to: www.holyhiatus.co.uk or email Ruth Jones: holyhiatuswales@gmail.com

The project is funded by a Support of the Arts grant from Pembrokeshire County Council

The project is organised by Holy Hiatus in collaboration with Joon Dance. It follows on from the success of last year's Gather / Casglu outdoor dance workshops. This year, Joon Dance is also holding a two day outdoor workshop on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th April using Solva Village Hall as a base to explore the landscape through movement.
