25 SCARECROWS graced the village of Solva earlier this month, as the popular Solva Scarecrow Trail returned for its eleventh year.
This year's theme was Detectives and Villains and locals and visitors alike enjoyed identifying as many as possible and voting for their favourites on Sunday, August 12 and Monday, August 13.
Winner of the best scarecrow was the Kray twins, the scariest scarecrow was Hannibal Lector and the funniest was Scooby Doo.
"The weather was reasonably kind to us," said organiser Frances Barker. "We just got soaked setting up on Sunday morning and the scarecrow builders had to use their ingenuity to keep their creations dry in doorways, under archways and plastic bags."
