Pembrokeshire Primary Schools Football Squad regain top spot after taking all twelve points against Aberystwyth Schools on Sunday at Camrose F.C.

Pembrokeshire A 5.

Aberystwyth A 0.

The Pembs boys played some very good team football before Adam John put them ahead early on in the first half. Relentless pressure forced Aber to score an own goal and Declan Escott added two more before half-time.

Lloyd Hughes and Stefan Hayes played well on either flank while Liam Gammer, Spencer Williams and Owen Coombes all defended solidly. William Davies in the Pembs goal had little to do and Matthew Dickinson and Sean Edmunson both made impressive debuts. Escott completed his hat-trick to put Pembs in a comfortable position.

Pembrokeshire A 2.

Aberystwyth B 0.

This was a much closer game and Pembs were forced to defend for a lot of the time. Davies made some good saves and Escott and Hughes both went close to scoring. Hayes put in several good corners but found the Aber keeper in fine form. Pembs were relieved to see another own goal after a defensive error and the Hughes nosed in Pembs second to put the game out of reach.

Pembrokeshire B 4.

Aberystwyth B 0.

Aberystwyth started out brightly and forced Pembs to defend well. Dylan Rees was his usual composed self and Aiden Rainbow and Mark Davies supported the forwards well. Despite good runs by Marc Boswell, Ryan Harley-Davies and Marcus Blair, Pembs failed to score, due to some very good goalkeeping. Patrick Pearce worked hard in midfield and Llyr Tobin made some brave saves in the Pembs goal.

This was definitely a game of two halves. Pembs started off with great determination and soon a glut of goals followed. Marcus Blair scored the important first goal, quickly followed by goals from Joey Lewin, Pearce and Harley- Davies. This was a fine second half performance by the whole squad.

The squad piled the pressure on after the previous game. Harley-Davies scored two very good goals in quick succession followed by an excellent shot by Lewin.

Sammy Smith had a great debut scoring two goals to make the final score 5-0.
